Apparently Richard passed away earlier this month aged 76.
Richard's book "Ultralights, the early British classics" has been mentioned in a few threads here, and certainly was responsible for my start in homebuilt aircraft.
When I first read his book I fell for the Chilton, then his magazine "Aeroplane Monthly" ran an article on the Canadian built Chilton C-GIST, I wrote to him through the magazine and he kindly put me in touch with Roy Nerou who held the plans, and later wrote to congratulate me when I first flew G-BWGJ.
A great friend to classic aircraft, he will be missed.
