I was at OSH the year AC Delco had the "Glamorous Glennis" there with Yeager flying it around. IIRC he was doing touch and goes in it during the Sunday departure rush.

My father met the legend by accident. Mr Yeager knew that there were some people from Spain at the gathering and that my father was from Catalonia. He approached him to say how grateful he was about how well he was treated in el Pont de Suert once he crossed the Pyrennees by foot after he was shot down in France.

It is funny though, my great father did the opposite by crossing the Pyrennees to the other side during the civil war. In any case all the pains that the prior generations went through in the multiple past wars were not in vain and had served to build a much better world today.
