Is anyone selling plans for a 75% or 85% scale Replica of a Boeing-Stearman PT-17 ?
Surprisingly, I have never heard of a scale Stearman replica. With the availability of the Rotec radial, that seems like a niche that needs to be filled.
A Stearman is a classic but it is an ugly airplane and they don't fly very good. Stardusters and Wacos are really pretty airplanes and they fly much better.
There is at least one flying around. The web site is not the best, so I haven't dug through his site enough to know if kits or plans are being marketed. Don't have time for that this morning....
Thanks Everyone! I am kicking around building something. Thought about the PT-17 because my Dad was a Flight Instructor in World War II and spent a lot of time in the originals.
Someone took a Fisher Flying Products Celebrity and Painted it up like a PT-17... if you stand back 100 ft or so. Anyways, I thought it was pretty cool:
