Reno. 14-18 Sept. Who's going?

Despite saying "this is the year" for more than a decade now, last time I was there was 1974. I'm flying the Rocket in on Thursday morning and leaving Monday. Anybody else?

I’d love to do the same, but I don’t have a Rocket.

Barely snuck in in MVFR conditions but the tower cleared me in. So here we are!

WOW... the one time I flew a private airplane into Reno Cannon to attend the race, that whole tiedown line was filled to the gills with airplanes, I barely found a parking spot!

Keep in mind that we arrived Thursday morning. I think we were the start of a new row, but it's pretty light here due to the smoke. If i had not already committed to the weekend with my posse i would probably not come this year.

We had planned on visiting Tahoe first then the races, Smoke in Tahoe was basically toxic (436 AQI) and Reno was smoky but clearing. These guys have been giving updates so I would recommend checking the weather/smoke and this forum before you make the trip: Updates from Reno... - Page 4

Exactly, it was good and clear, the grandstands were fairly full and if you were to look at the smaller grandstand with the Stihl group you'd think a party was happening

Did you build, fly or/own a cri cri? Sweet Rocket too by the way!!

I was given a 50% completed Cri- Cri some years ago with the intent of finishing it, but quickly realized it would be over gross with me flying it. So I sold it and purchased a Starduster Too project (which I also later sold, unfinished).

Looking forward to the Biplane class today... Yesterday I was chatting up a team owner and noticed some "easy" speed mods that he overlooked. He was only down "a couple knots" from where he wanted to be so once he heard my ideas he was off in search of the materials to implement the mods. He says if he wins today "I" get to ride the firetruck!

Makes it fun to have a little "skin in the game".

I also think Im going to try PRS next year. As it turns out, there is a Rocket racing here that I used to fly formation with. My Rocket is faster than his and he's out there, so why not?
