The discussion on what alloys to use in the exhaust got me to thinking: Why work with relatively hard to work with Iconel or Titanium?

Build the exhaust from easier to work with Stainless and then have it coated. The newer coatings will protect the pipes better and to a higher temperature than Iconel, and reduce the under cowl temps 30%-50%. The price is about the same as Iconel, and cheaper than Titanium - especially when factoring in the labor from specialists doing the work.

One good coating - 2000F rating, 1300+F continuous, thermal barrier to reduce radiate heat:
