Skidoo introduced the 250 Type 247 Single in 1963, and I think I was told only the 1963-65 had the (4) Threaded PTO Case Holes. They used a Straight PTO Shaft. I was looking on my laptop at some old photo's I had and ran across this one labeled 247 with a Rotax A Gear Drive. Don't remember when or where I saved it from. I have never seen any reference to a 247UL/250UL. The Skidoo 250 Type 247 version was rated 12hp@5500rpm using 8.0cr and a Muffler. The Standard 250 Type 247 was (69mm x 66m) 246.8cc.

There was never a 246/247/250 TNT that I know of. There was a 246 Blizzard rated 29hp with a Tuned Pipe. All Blizzard Single's were Free Airs that used a High 12.0+cr and turned Higher 7000+rpm.

1971 246(29hp) Blizzard Spec's.

1971 292(31hp) Type 291 & 1971 340(36hp) Type 336 Blizzard Spec's.

So has anyone ran across one of these 250 Type 247's used on an Ultralight/Kitplane?

As far as I know, the Rotax A Gear Drive only used a Tapered 30mm 1:10 PTO Gear.

The only Singles to use a Tapered 30mm 1:10 PTO was the 277UL (72mm x 66mm) 268.8cc and the 250 Type 253 (72mm x 61mm) 248.4cc.

One thing I notice, is most Skidoo's in the 60's and early to late 70's used Tillotson Carbs, and this 247/250UL looks different, maybe a Mukuni or other Type of Carb.

The Rotax 185 was never used here in the USA/ or Canada on a Snowmobile, but I have read of reference to them being used on Sleds in Europe in the early 60's. There was I think a 145/148 (59mm x 54mm) 147.6cc and 163/165 (62mm x 54mm) 163.0cc Singles also, very rare today.
