When opening up the rear spar 1/16th for experimental, would we move the rear vertical cap strip to expand opening? Cuz theres the measurement from front spar to rear spar more forward vertical cap strip.
If it were me I’d do whatever had the least impact elsewhere in the build. Depending on the airplane this simple change could have a ripple effect that will require changes to compression struts, ailerons, flaps, fuselage structure around the attachments, landing gear, and so on. Maintaining the same distance between the faces of the spars is *probably* the least intrusive way to change it, but double check through the whole airplane and think very carefully on it before you commit.
