I am flying a Fisher Celebrity and I want to install an intercom. The former owner said he used a voice activated intercom, but it was useless because the wind would constantly activate the intercom and the wind noise was intolerable. He took it out.

He told me if I wanted an intercom, I would have to get one that was push-to-talk only. That would limit the wind noise to the actual conversation.

I have only been able to find two PTT intercoms -- the Sigtronics 400n and the Sigtronics Sport 200n. Both are panel mounted. I would prefer a portable.

Does anyone know of other PTT intercoms, especially portable?

Also, how would a PTT intercom affect the pilot's radio transmissions, would the Sigtronics mentioned above have an overide for radio transmission?

Many thanks.

Don
