I friend with a Maul made a precautionary landing because of weather building around him. He put down in a field no problem. He asked me and another pilot friend to go back to the plane to help remove some gas and give our opinion about taking off from the field. Our other pilot friend and i were discussing and he came up with what I think is an excellent thought about departing from a small field. If it looks marginal about taking off, he said "It is much better to take the wings off with wrenches than to take the wings off with trees!"
Just wanted to share this thought!
