When a conventional style rib or bulkhead structure covered by riveted sheet aluminum, such as a fuselage or D-section, a fixed amount of pressure exists at each rivet. (I think).

Would there be any difference to the structure if the covering sheet was pre-formed to fit using rollers or English wheel so it had a permanent "set" versus the cleco-rivet-cleco wrap procedure? How about the per rivet pressures?

Just thinking about the added stiffness from a curve or crease added to a pure flat panel.

I know what I'm thinking, just hard to put in question form.
