Has anyone tried the Harbor Freight powder coating system? I am new to powder coating so I don't know if I'm messing up or if the equipment is not the greatest! The problem I'm having is getting the powder to deposit heavily enough without going over and over the part. A friend who has seen it done says the powder should be strongly attracted to the part- this is not happening. I have the parts suspended from a bare metal support with saftey wire. I grounded the support to the machine and when I get too close with the gun , a big spark shoots between them so I think I have good contact. I'm also using Harbor Freight powder- could that be the problem? After curing ,the surface is shiny and hard but I have too many thin spots. I wonder if a different type of powder would deposit better? Any suggestions are appreciated! Jim
