Hello there, pls take a good look at the small dots on the bays of this two-spar wing .my question is, is the drag and anti drag wire as seen in bay 1 supposed to connect to the root of the compression tube or to the intersection between the wing spars and compression tube as seen in bay 2 or,is the drag and anti drag wire supposed to connect to the wing spars as seen in bay 3.
This is the point I'm at in my project, your answer will be much appreciated.
Inorder words, which bay is set up correctly ⬇⬇⬇⬇

When you deviate from #2, what happens is that you're putting the other members into a little bit of bending, whereas they would only be axially loaded if the geometry were ideal. How far they can be off depends on how big the loads are and the size & shape of the spars & ribs, but it could be calculated.

Structurally, the version shown in Bay 2 is right. That puts the compression ribs in pure compression, and makes for a stiff structure. The others either bend the compression rib or the spars, and is thus much softer, allowing more motion fore and aft, which is just plain bad for everything.

Connection details... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SU9s3L-BTjI shows the scheme pretty well. RockieDog2 is a terrific resource and a really good guy.

I had seen the video of the 701 over the Hudson but somehow missed the SS-1 and Putt-Putt videos. Joe, you rock. Was it '16 or '17 you brought the SS-1 to OSH?
