I flew an ultralight back in the mid-1980's.
Back then, ultralights usually utilized a rotax engine from 227cc to 503 cc.
Ive been examining the world of powered parachutes in 2023...
Im amazed that popular choices include a Moster Atom 80cc at 16hp, or a Moster 185 cc engine with 27 hp!
Interesting to see that 2 stroke technology , and carbon fiber prop technology, have steadily increased over the years.
Oddly enough, both theses little firecrackers are still using a carb, and no fuel injection as of yet, but...
Roumor has it that fuel injection will be an option on both engines soon.
Part of me wants to try out one of these little engines, but I wonder why its taken so long for fuel injection?
Thoughts?
