Given FAA requirements for day/night VFR and panel dimensions, what are the general rules for laying out an efficient panel? Specific application here is a small open cockpit
high wing single seater.
I'm using a C152 as the starting point for panel design.
For example:
1) Minimum distance between steam gauge faces?
2) Rocker vs toggle switches?
3) General order of engine and flight instruments?
4) Location of primer, key and main switch?
5) In-panel vs top of dash magnetic compass?
All comments apreciated.
