I am looking at a Dragonfly with a 65hp HAPI VW engine that "needs overhaul".

I am trying to find out what would be involved in a 0 time overhaul, to budget for a worst case scenario.

I have worked on VW air cooled engines previously, but not for airplanes and never an overhaul. I know the Revmasters use some custom parts, and that HAPI is defunct, so I am concerned about obtaining parts for the overhaul.

Where I can I find information and parts lists for the HAPI engines? I have reached out to Viking, but they don't sell the HAPI manual on the website and I am still waiting for the response.

Are there any specifics I should expect with the HAPI units? Do they use magnesium or aluminum cases?
