Options with VW Engine

I have a 2180 CC VW engine I am thinking of using on an aircraft. Most of the VW applications are not catchy if you will. I intend to you use the aircraft for short 3 hour commutes about 3 or 4 times a month. The Q2, Sonerai I or KR -1 are the only ones that are aesthetically pleasing and functional as far as I can tell. Is there anything else out there that I should look at?

I want something a little sporty and fast.
