Interesting.

The Whirlpool factory near me has three windmills that generate about 20% of their power (so they say).

Apparently they have a variable pitch mechanism. The other day when I was out on my 2 mile walk I noticed only one of the windmills was spinning. The others were not, and seem to have a zero AoA on the blades. Like they were being parked.

Anyone know what the criteria is that they use? I know an aircraft with variable pitch can be adjusted for a constant RPM. Is that the same for a windmill?
