I like the continuous, elongated turtledeck and the gear.

So do I. A friend of mine had a VP-1 and I overhauled the 1600 cc VW engine for him. Flew great, had a little heating problems at first until we got better airflow to the oil cooler. He had one side of the gear fold under part way, but no damage except the gear. The wire braced gear leg will take very little side load, if built to the plans.
    I liked the airplane.

Last I heard he was still flying it but had it on the market. I don't know if he's sold it yet.

He wants to build something bigger and faster so he can fly with his family.
