I am seeking opinions for using a different airfoil on the Air Car I plan on building.
For those unfamiliar with the Air Car, it is a 4 place amphibian, plans built (mostly wood, with a fiberglass cabin and skin over plywood, with a steel tube car frame connecting wing and hull and engine.)
Very cool plane

Empty Weight 2200-2600 lbs
Gross Weight 3200 lbs
Cruise 120-140 mph

The current airfoil is a 4412, which, from all reports has been a good performer on this plane.
I am going to go from a strut braced to a cantilever wing.
I thinking I might like to go aluminum. I’d like to move the fuel to the wing from its current position above hull and below engine. I am also contemplating retractable wingtip floats.

I am considering the Riblett 35 and 37 series airfoils, with a 15 % to 18 % thickness, for fuel and strength.

I would like thoughts as to which of these series would be appropriate to this project, and any other thoughts you’d like to contribute.

Thanks
