Welcome! Several people here have an interest in the Moni, so you will be able to have lots of fun discussing that.

Anyone here who is not interested in the 7AC, well, just don't pay any attention to them, they have some sort of cognitive and intellectual disorder.
Who don't love an Aeronca 7ac or a Stinson HW75 or a Piper J3? Looking forward to the Monnett Moni progress and welcome aboard Longtrip.

Thanks for the encouragement. We love our Champ. Moni is waiting for the DAR.

Karma beat me to it by a couple of hours... that looks like an original KFM cowling. If you are interested, our EAA chapter has a KFM with factory belt reduction available for sale or trade. Apparently the belt reduction solves several of the KFM's reliability issues.

LOVE to hear about the Moni project, which mods and upgrades you have, if it had already flown in an earlier configuration, etc. etc.

It’s s/n 334t, riveted wing skins, all service bulletins complied with (rudder cable mod at the mixer, root rib re-enforcement, second canopy latch). I have a second brand new in the box KFM 25hp engine. The empty weigh is 318#. Full fuel (6gl), 200# pilot, 26# ballast = 580#, which is 20# under gross weight (600#).

Seing the 26# ballast is that on the nose ? Ive heard lots of weight up front needed with the kfm. So does that mean possibly a heavier by 26# 4 stroke could be used and not have to have ballast added as it would just be in the "extra," weight of the engine.
