Hello to all HBA forumers!

I already posted in a thread about the electric microlight from Foundationer, but didn't properly introduce myself yet.

I have been following HBA for some years and finally decided to join the club, as I see some interesting discussions and people having similar interests as me.

I was very active as a teenager and passed my SEP, Sailplane and Ultralight licenses after begining with remote controled sailplanes. I flew only on rare occasion during my time at an engineering School and them during my first years of work. Even thought I specialised in aircraft structures, my job ended not at all related to aircraft design...

I settled in a house with a big workshop some years ago and I am now doing as a hobby what I can't do at my workplace : designing, building and flying airplanes.

My main interests are in Sailplanes, composite construction, Electric propulsion and Ultralights (as per the french definition, so it can go up to an "LSA" like airplane).

My ultimate goal is to design a high performance sailplane with an electric self-launch system but compliant with the french ultralight rules, something like the GP15 JETA for those who know!

But for the time being, I started with something more accessible :
This is the sketch of the single seater ultralight I designed.

Overall, it is inspired by the MC30 Luciole (firefly) from Michel Colomban, but in detail, everything is different.
Construction and structure more like a modern sailplane.

It is optimised for Electric propulsion, but since the miracle low cost batteries are not yet available, I ended building the prototype with a piston engine.

It not very big, 134kg empty with balistic parachute.
Engine is a 35hp AIXRO XF40 (not really a piston engine since it is a wankel)
It flies since this early summer.
