Well, as the title says new to the forum and somewhat new to airplanes. Spent my career working away as a marine engineer, finally home so I can pursue my interest. Working on my GA pilot cert and considering air craft options. So far appears to me if I want to fly NOW, by a certified plane? I would like to build a plane, but I also want to fly now. Looks like realistically a plane build is a 3 to 5 year project? So at this point I am considering buying a simple ready to fly plane while deciding on a project plane that I really want to replace it later?
