I've decided to start a new aircraft design. It will be very similar to an existing design, but the structure will be made of a different material (sheet metal) and the design will be simplified. It will be obvious at completion (if ever reached) what design I started with, however, until that point I will probably not mention it. My first milestone will be redesigning the wing. I have started with the initial designs' airfoil coordinates and rib spacing. I hope to be ready to build a prototype for aerodynamic and structural testing by the spring. The goal of this first iteration will be to verify aerodynamic properties of the wing and to statically test the wing to failure. It will probably be over designed due to my fear of fatigue, but the original design was also somewhat overdesigned.

Below is a rhino model of the wing.
