I've had the plans for a J3 Kitten for a long time and I guess it's time to get serious. Been around aircraft quite a bit over the years but every time I started flying it just got too expensive, too fast. But I have a fully equipped wood shop now and a well set up welding, fabrication and machine shop, with a lot of experience with both. Figured I might as well put them to use doing something I've been wanting to do for a while, at least when I'm not fixing fence or shoving cows around.
I'm going to be particularly interested in information regarding the option of laminated or I-beam spars for the Kitten. The solid spruce spars are ridiculously expensive, more so when freight is factored in.
