They really are, not many around though. It looks beefy but has yet has that grace to it when it flies.

Grumman OV-1? Interesting, intriguing, useful, macho, adaptable for sure, but beautiful?

I took a photo of a Staggerwing Beech on floats on Lake Winnepesaukee in NH about 1964. Never saw another set of floats like them. They may have been custom made or taken from the air racers of the 1930s. That Staggerwing was also bright red.

I just noticed this thread is a little fixed wing centric. While there aren't many rotory wing aircraft I'd consider beautiful. I would submit the following for consideration:
