Morning all...
I am building a wooden plane but it uses 2024-t3 wing attachment fittings which I am making out of plate stock.
I have covered the ali in masking take to protect it a bit more and then cut the pieces out on a scroll saw a little oversize to account for a wondering blade a little.
They have then been sanded on a belt sander to the correct size.
There is a little bit of ali build up at the edges and is a bit rough so have then used 600 grit sandpaper to sand the edges and round the corners a little...
One of the pieces had a littl scar in it despite by best efforts to protect it with masking tape. I have taken the same 600-grit sandpaper to sand it out and it has now effectively gone.
Just wondering if there is an alternative way of doing it given the tools I have or is that pretty much it...?
Top tips gladly appreciated thank you
