I have a question not related to aircraft except in a very tangential way. I've had a desire for a Messerschmitt KR201 for a long time and that desire is to the point I'm considering building a replica. $40K+ is just too much cash for a real one, even if I could find a project here in the US.

One of the stumbling blocks is a windshield. Landing one here in the US from the old country would likely be in excess of $1000. Since this vehicle would be registered as a motorcycle, and they don't need laminated glass, I've considered a formed acrylic windshield. My only concern is with regard to scratching from the windshield wiper. Thus my questions:

Are there any aircraft that use acrylic windshields and windshield wipers? If so is scratching a real world problem?

Same question(s) of anyone here that may have experience with motorcycle wipers.
