I guess this would go here?

Sometimes plan sets come in digital format as one large file. Other times each page is a separate file. This makes it a pain to scroll through them. Actually, impossible to scroll through.

I use a free program called PDF Creator to merge the pages into one file. Works quite well, and makes it a lot easier to scroll through the pages.

There are a lot of programs out there that will do that, including Adobe Acrobat Pro. I think the new version Acrobat Reader DC will don’t it too.

I’m using pdf.chain for this in linux. It’s ok, but I need something a bit more powerful tho.

Does it just combine the page images, or is the embedded text included as well?

I have a bunch of PDFs of old Fly Baby Bulletins, which have the text thus can be individually searched. But when I try to combine the files, the text is lost and the pages become images only.

The Preview app that comes on all Macs allows you to cut, copy, paste, drag, and drop the pages in a PDF by clicking on the thumbnail images. If you have a bunch of separate PDFs, or images, or a mix of both, you can easily combine or separate them at will. For example, I downloaded all of the VP-2 plans images available online and combined them in a single PDF for viewing on my iPad.

Never tried that, so I don't know. All mine have been image only. But it does allow you to select which version PDF you want to save in.
