Mechanical Backups Instruments?

    In the past I also played "design games" in laying out a panel for a future EAB with glass.

    I too would want a couple of steam gauges in case everything fries including the wiring. I'd pick UMA ( non TSO) 2 1/4 mini gauges for ASI, and ALT . A color 2 1/4 AI from MGL ( not steam ) would be my third. "gauge". Just my opinion. As someone said...this borders on religion. :) .

    If you look at early Cirrus panels you can see what sorts of steam gauges they threw in to compliment their glass in case a "situation" or "deal" were to occur. Of course, how much panel real estate you have available will also heavily drive your decision.
