Just saw an old Magnum PI program.

He and another guy, in a middle of a fire fight with the bad guys, jump in a c172 and take off. Their original destination was Mexico from Hawaii. (and the backseat was a gas tank)

The other guy passes out from being shot by the bad guys so Magnum has to turn around and head back.

Funny stuff....

In the control tower that was talking him down, their consoles were original IBM PCs. In the background is an Imsai 8800.

Their radio receiver was a 1960s vintage Hewlett Packard vacuum tube oscilloscope, with a speaker grill pasted over the screen.

Then when they finally talked him down they were all congratulating themselves, and forgot to tell Magnum where the brakes where, so he ran off the end off runway into the ocean.
