I purchased an exper. airplane a few months ago. The plane belonged to my grandfather and he flew it for four years. The plane has now been stored for 27 years.
I have given the plane a VERY thorough inspection and found zero corrosion. I t was suggested to me to take of the cylinders so that the cam could be inspected for rust. I have two questions.
1. What do you think about removing the cylinders. Engine has great compression and no corrosion anywhere else.
2. How much work can I do on this exper. plane considering I was not the one who built it.
For more info on the plane and its builder look here.
Thanks in advance, Chris
