Hello everybody. I'm new to the site so, be gentle.
I learned to fly in higher performance tailwheel aircraft over 40 years ago. I have been away from flying for a little over 20 years and want to get back in the air. However, now days I'm only Light Sport eligable. Insulting but reality! I would love to own a Hatz CB-1. From everything I can Gleen on line (except Wikipedia??) this aircraft has a gross weight of 1400 lbs, an excess of 80 lbs over the 1320 lbs allowed for LSA (land). I truly believe that once MOSAIC is completed and in effect the CB-1 will be a legal LSA but who knows when that will happen? So, here's my question. Since this aircraft is amature built experimental, can anybody direct me to language in the LSA rules that would preclude me from mounting a placard stating "WHEN OPERATING IN LIGHT SPORT CATEGORY, GROSS TAKE OFF WEIGHT SHAL NOT EXCEED 1320 LBS" and going flying?
