I’m considering a new CGS Hawk ultralight kit and am looking for feedback of the ground handling and flight characteristics.

I’m leaning towards the taildragger config for weight considerations (the tricycle version was very close to the 254 lb. limit, according to the factory). Adding a parachute would make the weight issues go away, but I’d like to try and make weight w/o going this route.

I have very little experience w/ conventional gear and am a bit concerned about how tricky it would be to handle. Too many YT videos about ground loops have made me a bit uneasy.

I’d welcome any thoughts from those who have experience w/ this plane.

thanks.
