Most of me is in IL but my hearts in Alaska
OK the FAA has already ruled that airframe and power plants require equal expertise witness the rules to get your A and your P.
Also why doesn’t the FAA grant credit for building an engine?

I mean I can build an airframe and hang a certified engine on it and it will be qualified experimental aircraft.
Why can’t I build an engine and hang it on a certified airframe and get the same credit for a experimental aircraft?
It would seem like I would learn about the same amount either way!
