I hadn't seen it pulled all together like this anywhere but for the aspiring sketch artists who are looking for a broad audience I thought it would be worthwhile to pull together the 'lightplane' rules for various countries. For the sake of simplicity (of the airplane and the training required to fly it) I'm looking specifically at the kind of rules from around the world that look kind of like LSA. You know, the planes that look like planes and go up to the 1200-1300 pound MOTW range.
So far I have Canadian Basic Ultra-light Aeroplane at 544Kg MTOW and maximum Vso of 45mph, and FAA LSA but I grabbed it from the Wikipedia page so if anyone has the actual FAR reference handy that would be better.
As I understand it, Europe has some unique rules for single-seaters(?) and beyond that I have no idea what's going on out there. So what do you have in your country for light, small-ish aircraft? Links to actual regulations would be handy to if you have them, I'm looking at putting this all together into a sharable spreadsheet when I have the time.
