I put a gas strut on my Sonex canopy to keep it from slamming shut up, but the geometry I used shoved the frame out of alignment, making it hard to close and latch. I'm thinking of replacing it with a spring "hatch holder" (you push the extension spring out of column to collapse it), but I wondered if anyone else has a different, fresh idea.
