I thought I posted this yesterday but it never appeared...anyhow,

I have an Ipad "3" in my RV-12 using Sky Radar and WingX software. So far, so good.

I notice that when the Rotax 912ULS engine rpm is reduced to around 3000 rpm or so that the Ipad orientation 'flips' as if you were turning the Ipad to re-orient the display. It only happens at reduced rpm. I first noticed it in the pattern at idle engine rpm; no problem because I don't need the GPS moving map display while in the pattern, but today on let down from 11,500-ft I noticed it flipping back and forth when I cut the engine to idle and began descent.

My suspicion is that is is due to RF energy being radiated from the ignition system, but I have no way of proving/disproving that idea.

What do you thing?
