(This is a curiosity question. I'm not building anything new-- well, unless 32, 36, 49, 62, 69, and 13 come in. ;) )

Do these numbers look right?

Continental A-40: 2575 engine RPM, 40 hp, same prop RPM 81.54 ft pounds of torque.
Rotax 447: 6000 engine RPM, 39 hp, 2.58:1 reduction, 2325 prop RPM 87.72 ft pounds of torque.

So, after accounting for the fact the Austrian engine is 70 pounds or so lighter, could a design built for the A-40 use a 477?
