Easier just to follow the instructions when bonding the skin on. The most common issue is the skin separating from the epoxy, not the epoxy separating from the rib. The magic of the HP-18 is the use of ribs on 4" centers, which support the skin well enough to get laminar flow out of the notoriously touchy FX67. Making 280 rib molds would be a pretty time consuming job.

If carbon skins were laid up in a bent flat sheet metal form, then you would get a good long-teem bond to the ribs. This could "save" the 18 as a design ??? Bob?

You can get a smoother and more robust wing with fewer person-hours using conventional female molding technologies.
