Hi!

I always have wondered, how to lock a manual retractable landing gear? As an example, I believe the Nikitin Shevchenko uses a sort of endless screw. This was perhaps the norm in between WW1 and WW2, for retractable landing gears. Do you know about any sytem, other than hidraulic or electric, endless screws?

Would it be possible to do a retract landing gear with a lever, and a sort to of latch? Another alternative is the Aeros nano trike, but this system does not seem the most suitable, and robust, for a conventional three axis aircraft.

Thanks!
