I have a question that has rosen lately as my daddy is in bad shape and the reminder of the life's lenght has become very clear in several ways lately.

I am 58 years old and been building prototypes of VAWT wind turbine for 5 years now. An other dude past 70 been doing his HAWT for years....now his wife died and he himself got half paralysed.

My long term goal is to build an aeroplane of my own design. I think I now have the design generally laid out.

I am not a metal smith, but can do carpentry.

I think I am entering the danger zone....age wise...I cannot take 5-10 G:s anymore...possibly 2-3 max.

Flying needs a lot of attention and concentration...and stamina in certain situations.

When am I too old to start an aeroplane project building seriously....and fly it safely ?

Is 58-65 years old still plausible ?

Attached is a VAWT ( general system ).
