This is a carryover from my last thread "How much does it cost to cover a small airplane?"

I have a good deal available to me for a koala 202 that needs to be covered. In the past I have read about exterior latex and automotive paint being used to seal and protect fabric aircraft. I have already heard one vote that it is not a good system but I want more opinions. It has been around for a while now (didn't it get started by Ed Fisher of Raiceair?) so improvements or better alternatives may exist for all I know. What say you people? Is this a viable alternative? Remember I am concerned about making 254 pounds so I want to apply as little as possible. Perhaps a more traditional method will offer more protection at a similar price because I can use fewer coats?

What would it cost to paint a 202 this way?
Gary.
