i used 1/16 inch alloy regular alloy fuselage monocot and steel pop rivets with no studs or logerons and the weight didnt go up and also foam fibreglass wood sandwich with regular good grained timber and the weight was still ok proving low tech materials have a good life span and strength if monocot and sandwich are used .. even steel tubing covered by low strength alloy isnt too weighty ..and nylon covering and glued and heat shrunk with a iron or blower ... it dosent take much to reinvent the wheel here if your looking for cheaper easyer wasys to build aircraft its just getting them accepted ..
