OK, I'll bite. Where is Weeki Wachee? I know where Walla Walla is... :)
    Oh, and welcome aboard!

Thank you for the welcomes! Weeki Wachee is about 55 miles north
of St. Pete's southern tip. W.W. is identified on google maps if you
wish to know exactly. And yes, the "Mermaid Show" is still presented.
I first saw it in my grade school years, mid-1960s!
As to "Football or basketball" - I lost complete interest in PRO football
with the kneeling protests. My youngest son is crazy about basketball,
his 13 years older brother, now a 30 year old married man, loves "The
Lightning" hockey team, so there you have it...

Thanks for the geography lesson. My wife spent some high school years in Tarpon Springs, and managed to get back to Florida just in 2016.

    AJ:

You must try the Greek Chow Mein at Mr. Souvlaki, a couple of blocks south of the river bridge on the east side of Alt US19. I know, it sounds weird.

I know that place, and yes, that combination of culinary
concepts sounds like it's well worth the indulgence!

"the Greek Chow Mein at Mr. Souvlaki"
OoooKay... But I'm from where they had a restaurant called Zorba the Buddah... :)
Would like to visit that way - wife makes it sound fascinating.
Now, back to our regular programming...
What are your flying goals, Jack?

My flying goals are purely recreational, and not along the lines of any sort of true
distance type flying. I really like the idea of an ultralight as shown below, plus I like
the idea of an LSA Pietenpol style to be able to share the fun.

OK PWOOD, I got my laugh for the day with your SchnoopieDoggen word choice.
So help me, the FIRST image that came into to my head was:

We used to dive/jump from a 30 ft cypress tree along the river back in the 50's when we were in High school back in St. Pete. I still call any spring/river in Florida, liquid air conditioning:)

    PWOOD,
I fooled MYSELF! [ LOL ] I was born in 1960, so I saw all the "Peanuts Gang" cartoons on TV,
when in New York City you had a selection of Channels: 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13 which was
public broadcasting (PBS). [I was too old for the original broadcasts of "Sesame street" which
first aired in '69.] In December '65, as a kindergartener, you bet your life I watched the first
airing of "A Charlie Brown Christmas". So, having the "rapper" pop into my minds eye when I
read your SchnoopieDoggen word "cracked me up"... Of course two seconds later I pictured
the cartoon beagle atop his dog house with leather flying cap and silk scarf...
Again, I appreciate the laugh that I had as a result!
    :D

    Hello Jerry,

I sure understand where you're coming from, as you've lived in this great state for scores of years now!
Me and mine only moved here after my 2012 retirement, and it's fantastic being here!!!

Right now I have nothing to ask in regards to your kind offer. I am reading all the
way through the thread by member EUGENE on His SKYBOY and "Decalage", some
45 pages long at this point..He is a Russian man who has moved to Wisconsin, fairly
close to OSHKOSH. Tons of info to soak up!

Hi Jack, been following our 2 granddaughters since 2002, first to Kentucky and now in NE Georgia. The oldest graduated from high school Friday night and her cousin will graduate next year. I sure miss the seafood & sunsets on Clearwater Beach...
