Here’s my story:

I’m a couple of years away from retirement and my wife says I need to get a hobby or she’s throwing me out of the house. She works from home. Obviously, I want a roof over my head for the remainder of my existence. 😀

I’ve always been interested in aviation since I grew up in a house that was below the pattern at the local municipal airport. I still remember staring up looking at the Cessnas all afternoon. Like most people, life got in the way and wasn’t able to pursue it.

I started researching kit planes about a year ago and was intrigued about building my own plane. I love building stuff and needed a long term project. After looking around, I’ve settled on a Zenith 750 Cruzer. Hopefully will start the build process in a year or so.

I’ve joined EAA, but was wondering when I should look about joining an EAA chapter. I’m a little hesitant to approach a chapter now due to my lack of experience in the aircraft area. When would be the best time to look for a chapter?

I hope to use the forum to learn more about the area and ask any questions that may pop into my mind.
