Hello everyone, new guy here. I am a 21 year old computer programmer. I ride and drive many on and off road vehicles. I have always wanted to fly, but thought an airplane would cost hundreds of thousands. After looking at what kits cost I am hooked.

I am planning on building a RV-8. I am also looking at my options for where to live when I get my own place in a year or so. What length would I need for a safe runway to land a RV-8?

EDIT: How much noise does a RV8 put out? I would probably use a Lycoming 360 series engine with the quietest muffler I could get that did kill too much HP, or add too much weight. Would it be louder or quieter than the typical pickup with after market strait exhaust, or a Harley?
