Hi guys,
I REALLY don't like not knowing where I am in the air, and so have always planned to have a moving map display as part of my glass panel. Up till now I was firmly set on the MGL ENIGMA 5.7" EFIS W/ GPS However, it comes at a price: $4,300, compared with the non-GPS version: XTreme EMS + Engine module Plus 4 x CHT & 4 x EGT senders: $1,850
Today, however, I read of the AWARE Airspace warning device and moving map display - $275 From what I can make out, it offers not only a full moving map dispaly already pre-loaded with all Australian charts, but offers a great boon to pilots in that it provides excellent situational awareness with airspace alerting. No more flying into naughty airspace for me.
So, from initial investigations, it looks like I can get the $1,850 MGL devices for flight instruments and engine monitoring, plus a moving map display + airspace alerts for $2,125 - about half price of the Enigma.
Anyone know anything about either the MGL Xtreme products or the AWARE device?
Regards,
Duncan
