Hi All,
Obligitory intro post - I'm SpamIsHamInACan, I'm 40 going on 15 and from Australia.
My previous experience with aircraft building has all been on my collection of "modern" military aircraft, in particular their cockpits. I currently have 2 F-111 cockpit/crew modules, an E and an EF and a complete forward fuselage section that I have spec'd as a C. I also have an F-16 forward fuselage section that is a never ending work in progress (just when I think its perfect, I think of something else to do to it and pull it all apart again lol). None of these are flyers of course, just done for static display.
I have a PC-9/A that I am working on as a very slow, casual and relaxed restoration that I am in no rush to complete, which will eventually be a flyer.
I also have a number of spare parts surplus to my needs for the PC-9 that I will put in the for sale section here just because why not
My reason for joining here today is for my other project, which I am about to really start focusing on now.
I've accepted that I don't have the required skills or patience or area or time or knowledge to scratch build a helicopter or even a plane... putting something together from pieces yes, scratch building - not my strength i'm afraid.
Having a fairly decent grasp on quadcopters and having been flying them for nearly 8 years now, as well as scratch building some of the more complex ones just for shits and giggles, I have decided to combine two assets I can bring to the table and build a man carrying quad.
You can read more about this in my soon to be started build thread
