Is everyone using a small hopper tank for wing mounted main tanks? I hate getting air in the line.
Thanks .MM

Some have header tanks at the firewall, but most just have tanks built in. Fuel management is done differently for high wing and low wing usually.

Hopper tank? Like for grain? Header tanks between instrument panel and firewall are used, as are surge tanks placed forward or aft. These allow vapor return, so if the wing tank is unporting momentarily, it will clear without stopping the engine.

We have some substantial discussions on fuel systems. Use the advanced search tool, search on Fuel System, and on me (wsimpso1) and you will find a bunch of discussions, including header tanks, fuel injection, etc.

Have fun,

Thanks hopper tank search is not much. Surge tank is what we call it ina race car.
I think that I will add a fuel outlet to the rear of the tank and use 2 filters above a T fitting. If I get air, that means that I am down to 2or less gallons .
