I'm a PPL and working on my taildragger endorsement in the Champ and loving it! I want to build a small plane and would love one with similar characteristics as the Champ. Any thoughts? I joined the local EAA but they keep pushing the kit built or quick kits pretty heard which has turned me off. I really enjoy plan built and want to stick with that. I know. I know. I know. You're going to say, "You need to do a kit first". My answer is "NO". When I was a kid, the models I enjoyed were the plan built ones. The "kits" were WAY too easy and I didn't really enjoy them. I know it's going to be a thousand times harder but that's what I want. It's not about saving money. It's about having fun. Thanks in advance.
